Winlator just released a new version with more game support and performance increases. Version 8.0 was released on 37th September after version 7.1 which was released in 29th June. The new version mainly focused on providing more support for games and adding missing features.

Release Note for Version 8.0
New Features
- File Manager is now available as an option on containers. You can directly access the file manager without launching the container.
- New Screen effect feature to adjust colors, FXAA, and CRT Shader.
- Now you can set preferred input Api for games. Select either DirectInput or XInput for games like Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen, Street Fighter IV, etc.
- The availability of mouse inputs while using a virtual gamepad is disturbing for a good gaming experience. Now you can disable mouse inputs while using a virtual gamepad.
- A new feature is added so that you can move the mouse cursor to the touchpoint.
Improvements
- Improved UI interface to make it easier to use. Now app icons have a rich look, etc.
- Input controls are improved to work smoothly.
- ALSA audio drivers are improved to provide a better game audio experience.
- DirectInput which is the most used input API is now improved.

- DXVK drivers are now updated to the latest version v2.4.
- Box64 drivers are now updated to its latest version v0.3.0
- Mesa Turnip is now updated to the latest version v24.2.0
Fixes
- Android devices with the latest Snapdragon Gen 3 have issues with launching containers. The container startup issue is now fixed on devices with Android 14 SD gen 3.
